About the Recipe
These buns are great for boxing day tea and can be filled with whatever leftovers you like! I recommend making sure there's a good amount of stuffing and turkey in there....
Ingredients
250g white bread flour
25g sugar
7g salt
20g butter
1 egg
7g yeast
75ml milk
45ml warm water
5 tablespoons cranberry sauce
300g leftovers (turkey, ham, sausage and/or stuffing)
Preparation
Step 1
Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl and then add the butter, eggs, yeast, milk and warm water. Mix to form a dough.
Step 2
Tip the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for ten minutes, oil the bowl and place the dough back and into a (clean!) bin bag or similar to rise for one hour.
Step 3
Tip the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it into a ten inch square, make sure it isn't stuck to the surface. Then spread out your sauce and fillings on to the dough.
Step 4
Starting with the furthest edge, roll the dough towards you, tightly into a sausage shape and slice into six.
Step 5
Place the buns into a greased baking tin, spiral side up, place back into the bin bag and leave to rise for one hour until the buns fill the tin and touch each other. Preheat the oven to 200C and place a roasting tin of hot water in the bottom (steam helps bread rise).
Step 6
Bake the buns for 20 minutes, allow them to cool for 10 minutes in the tin before you remove them. Enjoy!
